REMEMBER
Your students will not be ready for your in class material if they do not do their at home assignment.
FACT
Teachers can never be sure students will do an assignment.
FACT
Fewer students will do an assignment:
1. They think it is boring.
2. They think they are not being graded on it.
High school math can be an especially hard subject to make "fun" or at best, "not boring."
ā
Further, an awful lot of content is new and needs to be introduced by the teacher.
ā
It is relatively easy for teachers to decide to simply record their lectures, or use someone else's, and have that be the at home lesson.

You've just made mistakes one and two.
ā
For my sample at home lesson. I am using a video, and I can't promise it won't be without potential for boredom.
ā
But it is relatively short (12 minutes), has cartoons, corny humor, and built-in quizzes to monitor the students are watching.*

*(To produce the sample at home lesson video, I started by using Powerpoint with Pixton Comic Characters and an abundance of animation tags. I then used Camtasia to capture the video motion of the slideshow (advanced by me manually). I also used Camtasia to record the audio and edit the video together. I chose Camtasia for it's ability to insert quizzes directly into the video in the editing process. It also enabled me to easily create a SCORM package to load it onto the open LMS Moodle.)
